This Walt Disney World value resort celebrates pop culture throughout the last five decades, while offering accommodations to travelers on a budget.

Pop Century, the fourth and most recent of the four Disneyworld value resorts, takes a different approach to its theme, while still maintaining plenty of Disney touches.

What is the Theme of the Pop Century Resort?

This resort is sectioned out into areas representing the 1950s, 1960s, 1970s, 1980s and 1990s. Each features themes highlighting pop culture from that particular decade.

The 50s offers up three-story tall jukeboxes while silhouettes of dancers in poodle skirts hang off the buildings. The 60s are all about the hippies and flower power, with peace signs hanging off the railings and a giant can of Playdoh anchoring the buildings.

The 70s section offers disco music and a 3-story tall Big Wheel, while the 80s offers up Rubik’s Cubes and Pac-Man "ghost" silhouettes. And for the 90s, it’s all about electronics, with gigantic cellphone stairwells and a 3-story tall laptop computer.

Each decade also features Disney characters from movies made during that time, both inside and outside the rooms.

Pop Century Room Details

Each room features two double beds, which may be a bit uncomfortable for two adults per bed, or one king bed. These 260-sq-ft rooms accommodate four maximum, plus one child under 3 in a crib. Connecting rooms and accommodations for guests with disabilities are also available upon request, based on availability.

Rooms have a TV, phone, one sink and mirror (the tub/shower and toilet are in a separate room), an open area for hanging clothes (with a rack on top) and a small size dresser. Irons/ironing boards and hair dryers are available upon request.

There is high-speed internet available in the room for $9.95 a day, but there is no Wi-Fi available at the resort. All rooms are also now smoke-free, though each resort has designated smoking areas.

Pop Century Dining Options

The main dining option at this resort is the food court, located in the main Classic Hall building, next to the check-in area. Guests can order in-room pizza delivery (though this option is way over-priced) and an “all-you-can-drink” mug is available for purchase to use during the stay. The outdoor Petals Pool Bar also offers alcoholic drinks, but no food.

For convenience, each room building does have soda and snack vending machines, along with ice machines, and in-room refrigerators may be requested, for an additional fee per day.

Recreation Options at the Pop Century Resort

The resort has three pools. The 1950s pool is themed like a bowling alley, the 1960s pool is the “Hippy Dippy Pool” and is themed with flowers, and finally there is a computer-themed pool that sits between the 1980s and 1990s buildings. The resort also features one kid’s pool, a fountain play area, a small playground and a game arcade.

How to Book a Room

Rooms at this resort can be booked directly with Walt Disney World online or by phone at 407-939-7429.
