Sports fans will love this Walt Disney World value resort more than the other All-Star properties, which all offer budget accommodations to travelers.

Three of the four budget properties at Walt Disney World that the company considers value resorts are grouped under the All-Stars name. What basically separates the All-Star Sports Resort from the others is the theme and a few other small touches.

What is the Theme of the All-Star Sports Resort?

This resort was the first value lodging built at Walt Disney World and, as the name implies, it is sports themed.

The room buildings are separated into five areas: Touchdown! (football), Center Court (tennis), Homerun Hotel (baseball), Surfs Up! (surfing), and Hoops Hotel (basketball). These three-story buildings feature exterior corridors, central elevators and stairwells at the ends. They are also separate from the main lobby and food court building.

Subtlety is not a factor here, so expect exterior touches like three-story tall football helmets anchoring the Touchdown buildings and large basketballs bouncing off the sides of the buildings in the Hoops area.

All-Star Sports Room Details

Each room features two double beds, which may be a bit uncomfortable for two adults per bed, or one king bed. These 260-sq-ft rooms accommodate four maximum, plus one child under 3 in a crib. Rates start at $82 a night.

It should be noted that at this resort, all king bed rooms are also designed for disabled travelers so they do not feature the normal tub/shower combo, only a wheelchair-accessible shower. Connecting rooms are also available upon request, based on availability.

Rooms have a TV, phone, one sink and mirror (the tub/shower and toilet are in a separate room), an open area for hanging clothes (with a rack on top) and a small size dresser. Irons/ironing boards and hair dryers are available upon request.

There is high-speed internet available in the room for $9.95 a day, but there is no Wi-Fi available at the resort. All rooms are also now smoke-free, though each resort has designated smoking areas.

All-Star Sports Dining Options

The main dining option at this resort is the food court, located in the main Stadium Hall building, next to the check-in area. Guests can order in-room pizza delivery (though this option is way over-priced) and an “all-you-can-drink” mug is available for purchase to use during the stay. The outdoor Team Spirits pool bar also offers alcoholic drinks, but no food.

For convenience, each room building does have soda and snack vending machines, along with ice machines, and in-room refrigerators may be requested, for an additional fee per day.

Recreation Options at the All-Star Sports

The resort has two pools. One is shaped like a surfboard, the other like a baseball diamond. There are no jacuzzis in the pool areas at this resort, but there is one kid’s pool near the surfboard pool.

How to Book a Room

Rooms at this resort can be booked directly with Walt Disney World online or by phone at 407-939-7429.

In October 2008 my family and I (3) vacationed to Walt Disney World and stayed at the All Star Sports Properties. This was the first time we had been to Walt Disney World and it was a good vacation with the exception of our things being stolen out of our resort room to which they say they are not liable. The value of the things stolen were around $1000.00 so needless to say this vacation cost us quiet a bit more than we had expected. I would just like to say that the resort/Walt Disney World may need to invest in additional security measures (such as cameras) to ensure that peoples valuables (such as laptops & accessories, cameras & accessories, cell phones, etc)are protected. I realize they can't install cameras in the rooms due to privacy but they could install them in the walkways to show entrance to the rooms.
