Save Money with Special Deals from Marriott, Starwood and Radisson

Whether it's a quick weekend getaway, or a week-long vacation, savvy budget travelers can save big with these three summer hotel discount promotions.

These hotel chains offer a wide variety of brand names and locations around the world, allowing the guest to easily partake of the deals and save money.

Marriott Offers Free Night after Three Stays

Members of the Marriott Rewards guest loyalty program can take advantage of a summer promotion that offers a free night after only three stays. This deal is great for budget travelers who choose to road trip for their vacation, as a “stay” can be as short as a single night at a property.

First, the guest needs to register between May 12 and June 30, 2009, via the Marriott Rewards website or by phone at 888.MARRIOTT (627-7468). Then after they book three separate stays at participating Marriott properties between June 1 and August 31, 2009, they’ll receive a certificate for the free night. This must be used by December 31, 2009.

Besides the actual Marriott brand name, properties include JW Marriott Hotels & Resorts, Renaissance Hotels & Resorts, Courtyard by Marriott, Residence Inn by Marriott, SpringHill Suites, Fairfield Inn, TownePlace Suites and Marriott Vacation Club International brands.

Radisson Offers Free Fridays All Summer Long

Radisson Hotels & Resorts are offering Friday nights free during the summer of 2009, via a promotion called “Friday is Freeday”.

From May 15 through September 15, 2009, guests will receive the Friday night of their stay free, when the booking includes either a Thursday or a Saturday night stay for two consecutive nights. In addition, members of the chain’s Goldpoints Plus guest loyalty program will qualify for 1,000 bonus points every night for stays that fall between June 1 through August 31, including the free Fridays.

“Friday is Freeday” is valid at participating Radisson hotels and resorts properties in North, Central and South America; Asia Pacific; and at Radisson Edwardian Hotels in the United Kingdom.

The promotion must be booked a minimum of seven days in advance via the Radisson website or by phone at 800.333.3333.

Pay Your Birthday Starwood Promotion

Starwood Hotels and Resorts is running a special birth year promotion at participating properties in the U.S. and Canada. It offers discounts to guests who book multiple night stays, with the second and third consecutive nights priced equivalent to the birth year of the guest. This promotion must be booked and fully completed by December 30, 2009.

For instance, if the guest was born in 1967, and booked a three-night stay at the Sheraton Suites in Key West during June, the first night would be priced at $199, with the remaining two nights priced at only $67 a night.

Not every Starwood property, which includes Sheratons, Aloft Hotels, Westins and W Hotels, among other brand names, is available under this promotion. Also, some prime location areas, like South Beach in Miami and the trendy Westwood area of Los Angeles, may add on a $100 peak period surcharge to the birth year rate – still a deal! But this promotion can still save budget travelers quite a bit on quick getaways.
