Walt Disney World has always strived to have something for everyone and that includes its hotels. Here's a quick overview of their least expensive Value Resorts.

Many travelers assume staying at a Walt Disney World Resort is expensive, but there are four budget-minded options offered by Disney on-property. Though not as low cost as some hotels and motels nearby, if you know what to look for and weigh out the benefits, you might find staying at Walt Disney World fits your budget after all.

But first, let’s answer some basic questions about the Disneyworld value resorts.

What is a Walt Disney World Value Resort?

It is a term given to an on property resort that offers basic accommodations to guests. Basic means you have an average-sized room, with 2 double-sized beds or 1 king.

Dining options will be in the form of a food court, in-room pizza delivery (though this option is way over-priced) or snack machines. Recreation will be a themed-pool or two, sometimes with a separate jacuzzi pool area.

The Details of a Value Resort

Each resort features exterior hallways and the room buildings are separate from the main lobby and food court building. The multi-floor room buildings feature elevators, as well as stairwells at the end of each building.

Each room features a TV, phone, one vanity with a separate room for the toilet and tub/shower, an open area for hanging clothes (with a rack on top) and a small size dresser. In-room refrigerators may be requested, for an additional daily fee.

Connecting rooms and accommodations for guests with disabilities are available upon request, based on availability. All rooms are now also smoke-free, though each resort has designated smoking areas.

Why Should You Choose a Value Resort?

The number one reason is that you want your Walt Disney World vacation to be all-Disney, all the time. From the Mickey Mouse soaps to the use of movie characters in the décor, there’s no doubt you are at Disney from the time you wake up until the time you go to sleep.

Guests at a value resort also have a multitude of benefits at their disposal. These include use of the on-site bus system which covers the entire breadth of Walt Disney World (no need for a rental car), extra hours at the theme parks (a perk for only for Disney resort guests), the ability to use the room keys as charge cards at shops and restaurants, express delivery of on-property purchases back to your room (no more schlepping around with shopping bags at the parks), and more.

Value resort guests also benefit from the above average level of Disney service, which is usually far better than any standard motel.

Why Shouldn’t You Stay at a Value Resort?

If price is the utmost concern, a Walt Disney World value resort probably isn’t for you. While they are the most inexpensive way to stay at Disney, rooms generally run between $82 and $120 a night. You also may not need or want all the extra benefits and perks of staying on-property.

Then there are those who want to see the theme parks but find the thought of being completely surrounded by the Disney atmosphere a little too much.
